Here is a big parking area near the road No. 711 and a sign "Illugastaðir" indicates the direction. It is a short walk to reach the beach that offers great opportunities to watch seals in their natural habitat. 
Please note that the elder duck is protected under Icelandic law and all access to the nesting area and its surroundings is prohibited between 1st May and 20th June every year.
