Just outside its windows, the daily catch gets brought in so the guests might catch a glimpse of one of the enthusiastic chefs browsing it for the freshest fish in north Iceland to be offered later in the day.
The house on Aðalgata 19 consists of 3 separate building structures, the first and northernmost was built in 1897, and is now the guesthouse section of Grand-Inn Bar and Bed.
During the summer, we offer a dinner buffet most nights. There are usually two meat based dishes, two fish based dishes, a vegetarian option and a selection of side dishes.
Kaffi Krókur - History
The night before January 18th 2008 Kaffi Krókur burned down and was totally destroyed. The house is one of the most remarkable houses of Sauðárkrókur. It was built in 1887-1890 by Vigfús Guðmundsson but he sold it right away to the sheriff Jóhannes Ólafsson. While the house was being built it was used as a storage and also for a live performance.
Today the house has been renovated.

Kaffi Rauðka is located in a bright red house by the marina in Siglufjordur. It is an excellent place to meet the locals and breathe in the atmosphere of this nice little fishermen´s town.
Hannes Boy is a unique but homey restaurant that offers a cozy and romantic environment at Siglo´s marina village. The restaurant is named after a local legend and fisherman.
Good coffee/tea/chocolate and cakes/sandwiches, best local beer Kaldi. From March to the middle of October also very popular fish soup, homemade beer bread and fresh salad.
