The heart of Þórshöfn beats in rhythm with the tides, as fishing and fish processing have long been the town’s main industries. It’s a real pleasure to stroll down to the harbour or take a swim in the beautiful sports and swimming centre, where the local information centre is also located.
Þórshöfn is also the gateway to the adventure-filled landscape of Langanes.

Þórshöfn offers excellent services, including a health clinic, a shop, a restaurant, a sports hall, a swimming pool, a gas station, a car repair shop, guesthouses and more. There is also a campsite with facilities for motorhomes.
Access to Þórshöfn has greatly improved thanks to the new road over Hófaskarð, and there are daily flights to the village on weekdays.
